On page and off page optimization

I’m sure that you’ve come across the terms “on page” and “off page” optimization before. In this blog, I would like to point out the important facts regarding each of these two Search engine optimization techniques. First we start with on page. This is actually the first step of search engine optimization and basically involves the structure and content of a website. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing usually maintain a huge database of websites which a user can access by typing specific keyword on the search box located in every single search engine page. To manage this database and keep it organized and responsive to search queries, search engines rely on programs called robots and spiders. These programs crawl across the web,  from site to site, inspecting and indexing each site as they visit. And in doing such, robots follow a unique set of criterions mandated by search engines. To be index in the right category, the correct page structure and strategy should be applied. Here are some On page structures that site owners must pay careful attention to for optimization.

•    Image, multimedia, content placement
•    Title tag placement
•    Meta tag description
•    Keywords In url names
Having done all of the on page optimization activities, its now time to market your website. This is where off page optimization is called for. Off page optimization is a search engine optimization strategy that is done externally to the webpage. Gone are the days that television and radio are the only mediums of advertising. Off page optimization involves social bookmarking, press releases, directory submission and many more. Through this, the site gets more traffic directed its way and consequently gets higher page ranking and search engine visibility. It is clear why off page is important. It is another way to make your website popular.
